Hi Grade 1s, We missed another week of school and i'm starting to miss you all! I am happy to hear that some of you have been visiting our computer lab website as you all already know how to access it from our school website. You may have noticed that I have added a few more links on the Grade 1 page for you to explore and have fun while learning! Here's what I would want you to do and try this week: 1. When we come back to school, we are going to start learning about proper keyboarding. Start practicing how to type properly and where to find the letters on the keyboard by going to these websites: a. Typing with Burton - learn with Burton how to properly type b. Dance Mat Typing - finish Level 1 and have fun practicing your keyboarding skills PARENTS: Your participation is required during the game to encourage your child to use the correct hand. 2. Explore any of the games and activities on the Grade 1 page and let me know which one is the most fun for you :)
This will be a place where I will be posting most of our computer lessons, news about what we are up to in our tech classes and any interesting links that will enhance student learning and most of all will host a showcase of the technology projects the first graders have completed. All are welcome to provide appropriate comments :) Hope you enjoy reading and being a part of our First Grade blog :)
