There is so much information in the WWW. Without search engines it would be impossible to find anything on the Web without knowing a specific URL. There are a lot of search engines out there, only a few do a good job in helping kids easily and safely find information.
Safe Searching Tips: 1.Use the right search engine: kid-friendly search engines. 2.Choose your search words (keywords) wisely and take care to spell correctly 3.Search result #1 isn’t always the best. The reason a result appears in the top spot after a search simply means that it is the best match to what you typed, not that it necessarily has the information you are looking for or is a credible or trustworthy site. 4.If at first you don’t succeed, search and search again… try different key words or use a different search engine. 5.If you see something that upsets you, turn off the screen or make the window smaller and tell an adult.
